North Canton Ohio Day Trip Part 1

Image
So, Deborah and I went back to Canton OH for more trailer repairs.  This trip we visited two spots.  The first place was a building that I had seen from the Interstate Highway. After a couple of false starts, we finally found our way to the building.  It turns out that the building was Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church.    The building design seems to emulate many other Serbian Orthodox churches in the US and Europe.  I love looking at building architecture, especially when the designs are modeled after ancient architecture.   Unfortunately, we were not able to go inside because it was all locked up.   Part 2 is on the left under "older post".

North Canton Ohio Day Trip Part 2

The second location we went to was MAPS Air Museum.  I had found it online and thought it would be a nice place to see.  Unfortunately, they were closed; fortunately, one of the members and crew chiefs of the displays was there and he was generous enough to give us a private tour through the museum and static displays.  Kent was extremely knowledgeable of all the aircraft displayed and was a great tour guide.  Many of the aircraft are still being restored as they get the parts and/or funds to complete the aircraft.    If you are ever in the North Canton Ohio area, I would highly recommend a visit to this hangar and museum.  If you want more information please go to their website.   Home - MAPS Air Museum

Lower Glady Fork Dispersed Camping 2

Image
As promised, we went back to the Monongahela National Forest to the Lower Glady Fork dispersed camping area.  We were able to stay 4 days.  It is allowed to stay 14 days in one spot at no charge.  The camping area is clean and somewhat quite.  It is very peaceful there.  Other than fishing and hiking, there is not much to do; but, that is the point when camping.  Sometimes, "nothing", is better than "something".

A Pain In the Jaw!!!

We decided to do some dispersed camping (Boondocking) in the Monongahela National Forest.  We found a great site with access to the Cheat River which is reported to have some good Trout fishing.  I must say it is absolutely beautiful there.  Campsite was quite, peaceful and a great place to stay. It was still a bit on the cold side as the temperature dropped to the mid 30's.  Our trip was cut short though, I had a tooth that needed a root canal and the pain became so great that our trip had to be cut short.  We do plan on going back in the near future.  Enjoy the Video and be sure to watch it on You Tube and subscribe to our channel.

Camper Repairs Needed So We Visited a Dead Presidents Tomb

Image
Our camper had a water leak from the water lines on the bathroom toilet and under the kitchen sink.  We took it to the RV dealer we had purchased it from to get repaired.  (We purchased the camper in Florida, but the closest dealer we have is in Ohio.)  We drove up the night before and stayed in the parking lot.  It wasn't too bad as they had electric for us to hook up to which was good considering it was rainy which turned to sleet; meaning, it was cold, so we were able to use our furnace.   While the repair work was being done, we went to President Mckinley's Tomb Memorial and then to his library and museum.  The work was finished that afternoon, so we hooked up and started driving home.  I was going to go to a camping ground in West Virginia for that night, but we saw a sign for Salt Fork State Park and took a slight detour.   Well, long story short, we ended up staying at Salt Fork State Park for four nights.  They have tons of hiking trails, lakes, fishing and just about
