Key West today

Image
Spent the day in key west, fl.   The day started dreary with lots of rain.  But it cleared and we had a great day.  Streets of key west were flooded but had started to drain and clear by the time we left.  Finished the day fishing and watching the sunset.

First whopper of the day.

Fishing and the sunset. What better way to end the day.

Leaving Chattanooga

Image
Heading back to the campsite.  We had a good visit while in Chattanooga.   We started at Rock City, very beautiful.  From there we went to Point Park on top of Lookout Mountain.  There are some of the besst views of Chattanooga from there.  We then drove down into the city and went by Tennesse Temple University where I went to highschool at then over to Orchard Knob battlefield.  After that we had dinner at a great bbq place and then made a brief visit to raccoon Mountain.  We stayed at Raccoon Mountain for two weeks nine years ago.  Now heading back to Monte Sano State Park. Tommorrow we are heading out to Three Rivers Stat Park outside of Tallahassee.   Arien will not be with us so it will be just Alyssa and I.

We woke up this morning to rain, so we got up early and dove into Huntsville.   We started at the Air and Space Musuem.  It was nice, but a little disappointing.   The musuem is now geared more to children because of the space camp.  After the space musuem, we went to Constution Village.  That was a very interesting tour.  It is the area where the Alabama State Constitution was signed.  There was working woodshop and blacksmith shop.  The tour guides were dressed for the period and were very animated. When we got back to the camp site, Alyssa and I hiked down the mountain and found a waterfall.  It was really nice.  However, going down requires going back up.  Of course we made it.  :)

Made it safely to our new campsite. We haven't decided what to do tomorrow yet, but for now we are all hungry. So, going to have some spagetti that I made and canned a few weeks ago. Hmmm...I hope there is a hospital nearby. :)

Our last night at Blackriver Water State Park.  Alyssa and I had a lot of fun swimming in the river.  It was Alyssa's first time to swim in a freshwater river according to her.  The water is around 70 degrees, so it took a little while to get used to it.  Arien took a nap while we went swimming.  Tomorrow we will head out to Huntsville Alabama.  We are going to stay at Monte Sano State Park located a few miles east of Huntsville.  It is on top of a mountain so should be a very nice stay.  The weather looks good for most of our stay there but is turning colder on saturday and is supposed to be in the lower forties Sunday night.  The days are supposed to be nice with some possible thunder storms on Saturday.  I am writing this on my phone, so I hope there are not to many gramatical mistypes.
